6 Ways To Take Control Of Your Thoughts
Happy New Year Guys!!!! First post of the year! So I woke up this morning rereading one of my favorite motivational books called You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. Seriously an amazing read and that says a lot since I don't read much. Anyway, I figured it would be a good way to start the year remembering who I am and what I'm capable of. Although I wish I could share and talk about the whole book with you, I'll keep most of it a secret. I wanted to share one chapter with you which is Chapter 11: Your Brain Is Your Bitch. I know what a great title right. I thought this was the perfect chapter to share at this point in time since I feel like 2019 has definitely taught us a lot of lessons and 2020 is for us to take control of our life and growth. The most important thing to me when thinking about evolving is making sure my mindset is where it needs to be. Without a positive, healthy, motivated mindset, I feel like it can be really hard to get anywhere. Therefore, Jen states a few points on "ways to show your brain who's driving the bus:"
Ask and it is given. clear your mind and know what you really want. ask people nicely and you will receive answers. you never know, until you ask!!
Act as if. if something seems literally impossible to obtain, believe you can anyway. "fake it till you make it". act like everything is actually happening. get out of your comfort zone and really seek/create opportunities. manifest it and it will happen.
Upgrade your environment. change your room, your work space, maybe even the music you listen to if its sad or looks into the past. you want a clean, happy, motivational space where your mind can feed off of. buy some greenery and throw out any clutter. upgrade your living situation and let your mind be free.
Make a vision board. feed your mind of things you want to manifest. cut up some inspirational photos and hang them up where you can see them everyday. places to visit, future house goals, your dream car, clothes you want, it can be any little detail.
Surround yourself with people who think the way you want to think. I'm only going to say this once and that's stay away from people who have small and closed minds! hang out with people who see no limits, who are as or more ambitious than you, and people who actually take action. go out and meet new people. think of places they might be and insert yourself there.
